Regular Season Round 6: Kagawa FA - Shinagawa 77-82
Date: October 22, 2023
The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Shinagawa's (3-3) road victory over 10th ranked Kagawa FA (4-2) in Takamatsu 82-77 on Sunday. American center Hayden Koval (216-1997, college: Cincinnati, agency: Diamond Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Ikumi Takahashi (186-1998) supported him with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) did not help to save the game for Kagawa FA. Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Shinagawa went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with Yokohama EX and Gifu. Loser Kagawa FA dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Shinagawa will meet Tokyo Z (#13) on the road in the next round. Kagawa FA will play against Yokohama EX (#12) in Tokyo and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the just one year after relegation.
