Regular Season Round 2: Shizuoka - Niigata A. 72-70

Not a big story in a game when Niigata A. was edged on the road by Shizuoka 72-70 on Sunday. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Liberian-American guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St.) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Shizuoka's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nigerian power forward Martins Igbanu (203-1997, college: Tulsa) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Katsumi Takahashi (180-2000) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Shizuoka will meet Iwate on the road in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Fukuoka R. and hope to win that game.
