Rather expected game when Fukushima was defeated at home by Kumamoto V. 97-79 on Saturday. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (203-1987, college: Georgia) scored 26 points, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Aaron White (206-1992, college: Iowa) chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (208-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Taketo Kato (178-2000) scored 21 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. will meet Ehime OV in the next round. Fukushima will play against Aomori W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
