There was no surprise in Matsuyama where Ehime OV was defeated by Yamagata 79-65 on Friday. American James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Michael Finke (208-1996, college: GCU, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Finke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Tucker Haymond (195-1994, college: W.Michigan) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata will meet at home Nishinomiya S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ehime OV will play against Kumamoto V. and hope to win that game.
