Regular Season Round 1: Kumamoto V. - Shiga L-Stars 91-85

There was a minor upset when Shiga L-Stars were defeated on the road by Kumamoto V. 91-85 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Shiga L-Stars only scored eight points from the stripe. Strangely Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Kumamoto V. 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. American forward Aaron White (206-1992, college: Iowa) fired 31 points for the winners. His fellow American import center Jamel McLean (203-1988, college: Xavier) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Justin Burrell (204-1988, college: St.John's) added 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. will meet Fukushima on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Fukuoka R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
