There was no surprise in Nagano where Ibaraki R. was defeated by Shinshu BW 91-83 on Sunday. Shinshu BW made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-1987, college: Detroit) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW will meet Chiba Jets on the road in the next round. Ibaraki R. will play against FE Nagoya and hope to win that game.
