Regular Season Round 6: Devil Rays - Kings 135-79

Bottom-ranked Kings (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 135-79 loss to fifth ranked Devil Rays (4-3) in on Sunday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 46. Devil Rays forced 26 Kings turnovers and outrebounded them 68-48 including a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Kings' players. The former international Toby Sathitsumpan (182-2001) had a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Tew Fra chipped in 24 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Devil Rays players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Marlon Monte with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Justin Nixon (196, college: Capital) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with T-REX and Pythons. Newly promoted Kings still closes the standings with seven games lost. Devil Rays will meet at home higher ranked SWU (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kings will play against the league's second-placed Wave (#2) and hope to get finally their first victory.
