Regular Season Round 1: Buffaloes - Saigon Heat 71-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Buffaloes in Hanoi on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Heat 85-71. Heat had a 36-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. International power forward Phu Vinh Nguyen (203-1998) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Heat players scored in double figures. American Anthony January (204-1993, college: CSUSB, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 20 rebounds and the other American import guard RJ Smith (198-1997, college: MSSU) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Buffaloes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Buffaloes will play at home against Catfish and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
