Regular Season Round 60: Niigata A. - Shinshu BW 62-71

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Shinshu BW (27-30) defeated on the road 8th ranked Niigata A. (13-46) 71-62 on Saturday. The winners were led by the former international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Reo Maeda (191-1997) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds by Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) did not help to save the game for Niigata A.. Guard Tensho Sugimoto (185-1998) added 18 points. Niigata A.'s coach Fujitaka Hiraoka rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW moved-up to third place. Niigata A. at the other side keeps the eighth position with 46 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata A. will play again against Shinshu BW (#3) and hope to secure a win.
