Regular Season Round 59: Gunma CT - FE Nagoya 88-79

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Gunma CT's (28-30) home victory over 6th ranked FE Nagoya (22-36) 88-79 on Sunday. Gunma CT dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to FE Nagoya's 34. They outrebounded FE Nagoya 29-18 including 22 on the defensive glass. Gunma CT looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by FE Nagoya's players. It was a great evening for the former international guard Aki Chambers (190-1990, college: UC Merced) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Narito Namizato (172-1989) helped adding 10 points and 12 assists. Five Gunma CT players scored in double figures. American forward Jeremy Jones (201-1996, college: Gonzaga) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Slash Sports) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gunma CT moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted FE Nagoya keeps the sixth position with 36 games lost. They share it with Kyoto H. and Ibaraki R.. Gunma CT will meet Sendai 89ers (#8) on the road in the next round. FE Nagoya will play against the league's second-placed Shimane SM and hope to secure a win.
