An interesting game for Cathay Life (18-3) which played against second-best Taiyuan Textile (15-6). First ranked Cathay Life had an easy win 72-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Taiyuan Textile. The former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-1994) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 assists for the winners and the former international Yu-Chun Chen (176-1987) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international center Tieh Lin (182-1999) with 6 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Hsiao-Tong Peng (168-1998) scored 14 points and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cathay Life have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-3 record. Taiyuan Textile at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. Cathay Life will play against bottom-ranked Taipower (#4) in the next round. Taiyuan Textile will play against Chunghwa Telecom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
