Regular Season Round 57: Niigata A. - Toyama G. 94-89

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Toyama G. (12-44) lost on the road to eighth ranked Niigata A. (11-45) 94-89 on Sunday. Toyama G. trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 36-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 89-94 at the end of the game. Niigata A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side and Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Niigata A. players scored in double figures. British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) added 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Toyama G. in the defeat. Niigata A. maintains eighth place with 11-45 record. Toyama G. lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 44 games lost. Niigata A. will meet higher ranked San-en NP (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyama G. will play against the league's leader Kawasaki BT where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
