Regular Season Round 56: Osaka E. - Shiga L-Stars 82-76

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (12-42) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Osaka E. (25-30) 82-76 on Saturday. Osaka E. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Sean OMara (208-1995, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) who added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Kai Toews (188-1998, college: UNCW) scored 18 points. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka E. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 42 games lost. Osaka E. will again meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#8) in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
