Very significant was Cathay Life's (#1, 16-3) victory against 4th placed Taipower (2-17) 81-47. Cathay Life dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Taipower's 28. Cathay Life forced 28 Taipower turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Taipower's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-1994) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Meng-Xin Chen (163-1999) accounted for 10 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Cathay Life players scored in double figures. The former international Yi-Wen Zhang (173-1996) came up with 8 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Chia-Wen Kuo (169-1993) added 8 points respectively for Taipower in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cathay Life (16-3) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Taipower lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Cathay Life will play against Chunghwa Telecom (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taipower will play against the league's second-placed Taiyuan Textile and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
