Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Niigata A. (9-45) was defeated on the road by second ranked Yokohama BC (32-22) 88-80 on Wednesday. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. The former international Masaaki Morikawa (190-1992) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC's coach Taketo Aoki used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 27 points and 8 rebounds and Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Yokohama BC maintains second place with 32-22 record having five points less than leader Shimane SM. Niigata A. lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 45 games lost. Yokohama BC will meet Sea Horses M. (#5) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
