Regular Season Round 9: Al Wakrah - Al Rayyan 82-84

A very close game took place in Al Wakrah (derby !!!) between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah. Fourth ranked Al Rayyan (6-3) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Al Wakrah (3-6). Al Rayyan managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Tuesday evening. Strangely Al Wakrah outrebounded Al Rayyan 44-23 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Senegalese power forward Mouhammad Faye (207-1985, college: SMU) nailed 27 points and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Tanguy Ngombo (197-1984) accounted for 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) came up with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and the former international center Ndour Mame Souleye (206-1987) added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Al Wakrah in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Rayyan maintains fourth place with 6-3 record. Al Wakrah lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost.
