The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Barsy Atyrau's (19-11) road victory over second-best Astana (17-7) in Nur-Sultan 88-67 on Monday. Barsy Atyrau forced 22 Astana turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Adilhan Marat (185-1999) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 assists. Russian David Didenko (206-2000, college: UT Martin) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Four Barsy Atyrau players scored in double figures. Forward Askar Maydekin (203-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Valeriy Simonov (194-2002) added 14 points respectively for Astana in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barsy Atyrau maintains first place with 19-11 record. Defending champion Astana keeps the second position with seven games lost.
