Regular Season Round 54: Niigata A. - Kawasaki BT 83-96

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Niigata A. (9-44) lost at home to first ranked Kawasaki BT (36-17) 96-83 on Sunday. Kawasaki BT looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) notched 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 18-of-20 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American power forward Michael Young (206-1994, college: Pittsburgh) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 29 points and 5 rebounds by Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Niigata A.. Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kawasaki BT have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 36-17 record. Loser Niigata A. keeps the eighth place with 44 games lost. Kawasaki BT will meet Sea Horses M. (#5) in the next round. Niigata A. will play against the league's second-placed Yokohama BC and hope to secure a win.
