No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ryukyu GK (42-11) beat on the road 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (12-40) 89-81 on Sunday. They outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 39-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-1990) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists by the former international guard Kai Toews (188-1998, college: UNCW) did not help to save the game for Shiga L-Stars. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ryukyu GK have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 42-11 record having just six point less than leader Shimane SM. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the eighth place with 40 games lost.
