Regular Season Round 30: Pilots - Steelers 93-101

Very important is a loss of third ranked Pilots (17-18) against sixth ranked Steelers (13-21) on Friday night. Pilots were defeated by Steelers in a tough game 93-101. Steelers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Pilots' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Pilots were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Jamaican-American power forward Femi Olujobi (206-1996, college: DePaul, agency: Slash Sports) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) supported him with 29 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Pilots. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) added 23 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pilots' coach Iurgi Caminos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Steelers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Pilots at the other side keep the third position with 18 games lost. Steelers will play against league's leader Kings in Taipei in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pilots will play on the road against the league's second-placed Fubon Braves in Taipei and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
