Rather expected game when 7th ranked Sendai 89ers (17-34) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Tochigi Brex (25-26) 74-69 on Wednesday. Tochigi Brex made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Sendai 89ers 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. The former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-1990) fired 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Grant Jerrett (208-1993, college: Arizona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Rashawn Thomas (203-1994, college: TAMUCC) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import Nathan Boothe (206-1994, college: Toledo) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Akita NH and Gunma CT. Sendai 89ers lost fourth consecutive game.
