Regular Season Round 51: Hitachi SRT - Niigata A. 82-64

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Hitachi SRT (24-26) beat 8th ranked Niigata A. (8-42) in Tokyo 82-64 on Sunday. Hitachi SRT looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Niigata A.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward James McAdoo (206-1993, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Hitachi SRT players scored in double figures. Hitachi SRT's coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Niigata A. in the defeat. Hitachi SRT maintains third place with 24-26 record having nine points less than leader Shimane SM, which they share with Tochigi Brex and Gunma CT. Niigata A. lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 42 games lost. Hitachi SRT will meet league's leader Kawasaki BT in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niigata A. will play against San-en NP (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
