Regular Season Round 53: Kagawa FA - Yamagata 88-95

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Yamagata's (23-32) road victory over 7th ranked Kagawa FA (15-40) 95-88 on Saturday. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Four Yamagata players scored in double figures. American Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists and Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) added 25 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata maintains sixth place with 23-32 record. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the seventh position with 40 games lost. Yamagata will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kagawa FA will play again against Yamagata (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
