Everything went according to plan when second ranked Nagasaki (39-16) beat at home 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (17-38) 88-70 on Saturday. Nagasaki made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) who scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Masaya Karimata (178-1988) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Green Sports Management) added 8 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Nagasaki. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second place with 39-16 record having four points less than leader Chiba. Loser Fukuoka R. keeps the fifth position with 38 games lost.
