Regular Season Round 50: FE Nagoya - Shiga L-Stars 65-76

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked FE Nagoya (20-29) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-38) 76-65 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international guard Kai Toews (188-1998, college: UNCW) scored 18 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jeremy Jones (201-1996, college: Gonzaga) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-1995, college: Gonzaga) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Shiga L-Stars maintains eighth position with 11-38 record. Newly promoted FE Nagoya keeps the sixth place with 29 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. FE Nagoya will play again against Shiga L-Stars (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
