Regular Season Round 50: Akita NH - Alvark Tokyo 75-77

Third-ranked Akita NH (24-25) made lots of trouble for second ranked Alvark Tokyo (37-12). The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. Alvark Tokyo players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. International swingman Hirotaka Yoshii (195-1998) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Akita NH. Akita NH's coach Kenzo Maeda rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alvark Tokyo maintains second position with 37-12 record having just five point less than leader Shimane SM, which they share with Hiroshima D. Akita NH at the other side keeps the third place with 25 games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex and Gunma CT. Alvark Tokyo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Akita NH will play again at home against the league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
