Regular Season Round 49: Chiba Jets - Gunma CT 89-81

Rather expected game when 4th placed Gunma CT (24-24) was defeated on the road by first ranked Chiba Jets (42-6) 89-81 on Wednesday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American center Kaleb Tarczewski (212-1993, college: Arizona) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gunma CT's coach Kota Mizuno gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba Jets maintains first place with 42-6 record. Gunma CT lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with 24 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex and Akita NH. Chiba Jets will meet Sendai 89ers (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gunma CT will play against Hokkaido L. in Sapporo and hope to secure a win.
