Regular Season Round 28: Dreamers - Steelers 87-97

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Steelers (9-21) defeated 4th ranked Dreamers (14-18) 97-87 on Sunday. Steelers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dreamers' 30. They outrebounded Dreamers 57-38 including a 43-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. Steelers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and American center Wendell Lewis (208-1989, college: Alabama St.) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Turkish Ilkan Karaman (205-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Chun-Chi Lin (175-1998) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Four Steelers and five Dreamers players scored in double figures. Dreamers' coach Kyle Julius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Steelers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 9-21 record. Loser Dreamers keep the fourth place with 18 games lost. Steelers will meet league's second-placed Fubon Braves in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dreamers will play against Pilots in Taoyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
