Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Jilin Tigers (19-21) lost to sixth ranked Guangsha Lions (25-17) in Changchun 89-99 on Sunday. Guangsha Lions outrebounded Jilin Tigers 47-24 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Minghui Sun (187-1996) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists and the former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-1997) supported him with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 21 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists by American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. The former international forward Cheng Zhong (206-1989) added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guangsha Lions have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 25-17 record. Jilin Tigers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 21 games lost. Guangsha Lions will meet Blue Whales (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jilin Tigers will play against Long-Lions (#9) and hope to secure a win.
