Regular Season Round 24: Al Riyadi - Beirut Club 99-105

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Beirut Club (#3) and Al Riyadi (#4). Al Riyadi was defeated at home 99-105 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Beirut Club made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Beirut Club looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Shabazz Muhammad (198-1992, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Mohamad Haidar (203-1990, college: Michigan Tech) who added 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Beirut Club players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Kevin Murphy (197-1990, college: Tenn Tech) with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Wael Arakji (194-1994) scored 13 points and 9 assists. Defending champion maintains third position with 18-4 record having just three points less than leader Dynamo. Al Riyadi at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost.
