Rather expected game when 4th ranked Gunma CT (24-23) lost at home to first ranked Shimane SM (40-7) 87-80 on Sunday. Shimane SM shot 21 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Gunma CT only scored four points from the stripe. The winners were led by American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) supported him with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Shimane SM players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 5 assists by American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Gunma CT. The former international guard Narito Namizato (172-1989) added 16 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Gunma CT's coach Kota Mizuno rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane SM have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 40-7 record. Loser Gunma CT dropped to the third place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Tochigi Brex. Shimane SM will meet at home Sea Horses M. (#5) in the next round.
