Regular Season Round 52: Nishinomiya S. - Aomori W. 86-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Aomori W.'s (24-30) road loss to fourth ranked Nishinomiya S. (27-27) in Hyogo 69-86 on Sunday. Nishinomiya S. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori W.'s 26 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Nishinomiya S. forced 24 Aomori W. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) who scored that evening 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-1993) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) did not help to save the game for Aomori W.. His fellow American import power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) added 6 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nishinomiya S. moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukushima. Aomori W. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 30 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aomori W. will play against Tokyo Z (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
