Regular Season Round 48: Tochigi Brex - Hitachi SRT 75-81

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Hitachi SRT (22-25) won against on the road one of their biggest challengers Tochigi Brex (24-23) 81-75 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Hitachi SRT especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) who scored that evening 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-1993) supported him with 13 points and 9 assists. Even 18 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists by the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-1990) did not help to save the game for Tochigi Brex. Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-1993, college: Hawaii) added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi SRT moved-up to third place which they share with defeated Tochigi Brex. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the third position with 23 games lost. They share it with Gunma CT. Hitachi SRT will meet league's second-placed Yokohama BC on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play against the league's second-placed Alvark Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
