Regular Season Round 47: Gunma CT - Shimane SM 73-76

Third-ranked Gunma CT (24-22) made lots of trouble for first ranked Shimane SM (39-7) on Saturday. The visitors from Shimane managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) produced 31 points and 4 assists and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Gunma CT's coach Kota Mizuno tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shimane SM have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 39-7 record. Gunma CT at the other side keeps the third position with 22 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex. Shimane SM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma CT will play again at home against the league's leader Shimane SM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
