Very predictable result when second ranked Saitama (41-8) defeated at home 12th ranked Kanazawa (15-34) 82-74 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kanazawa 47-36 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Grant Sitton (206-1993, college: Victoria) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-1991, college: UMass) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Saitama's coach Shugaku Izumi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian point guard Igor Boyarkin (182-1995, agency: BIG) who recorded 27 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) added 25 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Saitama have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 41-8 record behind leader Iwate. Kanazawa lost third consecutive game.
