Very expected game when 7th ranked Tokyo Z (13-39) was defeated on the road by third ranked Fukushima (26-26) 88-81 on Sunday. Strangely Tokyo Z outrebounded Fukushima 37-22 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-1989, college: Kentucky) who scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-1990) chipped in 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-1991, college: Ole Miss) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Ishmael Lane (203-1997, college: NSU) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 26-26 record having fourteen points less than leader Chiba. Tokyo Z lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 39 games lost. Fukushima will meet Yamagata (#6) on the road in the next round.
