Regular Season Round 45: Sea Horses M. - Osaka E. 66-86

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Sea Horses M. (17-27) was outscored by sixth ranked Osaka E. (20-24) in Kariya 86-66 on Saturday. Osaka E. outrebounded Sea Horses M. 46-26 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Osaka E. made 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Sean OMara (208-1995, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn St.) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka E. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with FE Nagoya and Shinshu BW. Sea Horses M. at the other side keeps the fifth position with 27 games lost. They share it with Kyoto H.. Osaka E. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sea Horses M. will play again against Osaka E. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
