Regular Season Round 45: Shiga L-Stars - Hitachi SRT 93-87

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Shiga L-Stars (8-36) defeated at home 3rd placed Hitachi SRT (21-23) 93-87 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-1990, college: Miami, FL) nailed 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (207-1991) accounted for 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) added 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds respectively for Hitachi SRT in the defeat. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Toyama G. Hitachi SRT at the other side keeps the third position with 23 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will again meet at home higher ranked Hitachi SRT (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hitachi SRT will have a break next round.
