There was no surprise in Jinjiang where 20th ranked Rockets (2-35) were crushed by eighteenth ranked Sturgeons (9-26) 112-92 on Sunday. Sturgeons forced 30 Rockets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-1989, college: Indianapolis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 assists and 5 steals and point guard Yiyang Li (181-1998) who added 21 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Five Sturgeons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Dewan Hernandez (211-1997, college: Miami, FL) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sturgeons maintains eighteenth position with 9-26 record. Rockets lost fifteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 35 lost games. Sturgeons will meet at home higher ranked Eagles (#15) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rockets will play against the league's second-placed Guandong Tigers (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
