Regular Season Round 43: San-en NP - Sendai 89ers 83-86

Important game to mention about took place in Hamamatsu. Seventh ranked Sendai 89ers (14-28) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked San-en NP (16-26) 86-83 on Sunday evening. Sendai 89ers made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 San-en NP turnovers. San-en NP was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Justin Burrell (207-1988, college: St.John's) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import Nathan Boothe (206-1994, college: Toledo) accounted for 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. American center Kyle OQuinn (206-1990, college: Norfolk St., agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Filipino guard Ferdinand Ravena (189-1996) added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for San-en NP in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Sendai 89ers maintains seventh place with 14-28 record. San-en NP lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 26 games lost. They share it with Sea Horses M.. Sendai 89ers will play against league's leader Chiba Jets on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San-en NP will play against Shinshu BW (#4) in Nagano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
