There was no surprise when 8th ranked Niigata A. (6-36) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked FE Nagoya (20-22) 91-67 on Sunday. FE Nagoya dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata A.'s 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International Luke Evans (203-1991, college: CBU) fired 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Andrew Randall (198-1990, college: Temple) chipped in 7 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four FE Nagoya players scored in double figures. Jamaican center Kofi Cockburn (213-1999, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-1993, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FE Nagoya moved-up to third place, which they share with Hitachi SRT. Loser Niigata A. keeps the eighth position with 36 games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. FE Nagoya will meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Niigata A. will play against Hitachi SRT in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
