Regular Season Round 43: Tochigi Brex - Shimane SM 61-73

Rather predictable result when first ranked Shimane SM (35-7) defeated on the road 5th ranked Tochigi Brex (21-21) 73-61 on Sunday. The former international guard Seiya Ando (184-1992) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-1993, college: Hawaii) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-1990) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Tochigi Brex's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shimane SM have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 35-7 record. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the fifth position with 21 games lost. Shimane SM will meet Osaka E. (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tochigi Brex will play against Akita NH and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
