Regular Season Round 46: Fukuoka R. - Nagasaki 83-95

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Nagasaki (33-15) defeated on the road 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (16-32) 95-83 on Saturday. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-1980, college: Otterbein) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Green Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Fukuoka R.. Forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) added 14 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second position with 33-15 record having five points less than leader Chiba. Loser Fukuoka R. keeps the fifth place with 32 games lost. Nagasaki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka R. will play again against the league's second-placed Nagasaki (#2) and hope to secure a win.
