Regular Season Round 42: San-en NP - Sendai 89ers 74-82

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked San-en NP (16-25) lost to seventh ranked Sendai 89ers (13-28) in Hamamatsu 74-82 on Saturday. American forward Justin Burrell (207-1988, college: St.John's) notched 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import Nathan Boothe (206-1994, college: Toledo) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Kyle OQuinn (206-1990, college: Norfolk St., agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for San-en NP. Filipino guard Ferdinand Ravena (189-1996) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Sendai 89ers maintains seventh position with 13-28 record. Loser San-en NP keeps the fifth place with 25 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San-en NP will play again against Sendai 89ers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
