Regular Season Round 46: Aomori W. - Ehime OV 92-77

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Aomori W. (22-26) beat at home one of their biggest challengers Ehime OV (22-26) 92-77 on Saturday. Aomori W. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) notched 32 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Aomori W.'s coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) did not help to save the game for Ehime OV. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-1993) added 13 points and 12 assists for lost side. Aomori W. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Ehime OV. Aomori W. will again meet at home Ehime OV (#4) in the next round. Ehime OV will have a break next round.
