Regular Season Round 26: Caspiy Aktau - Almaty L. 51-94

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Caspiy Aktau (8-17) was crushed at home by third ranked Almaty L. (21-4) 94-51 on Friday. Almaty L. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Caspiy Aktau's 16 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Almaty L. forced 23 Caspiy Aktau turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Caspiy Aktau's players. The best player for the winners was point guard Daniil Severgin (183-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Nikita Fedchenko (190-2004) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Five Almaty L. players scored in double figures. Forward Artem Rolgeyzer (192-2002) produced 15 points and 4 steals and the former international guard Danil Davletbaev (185-1999) added 9 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Almaty L. have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Almaty L. maintains third position with 21-4 record having seven points less than leader Shymkent. Caspiy Aktau at the other side keeps the ninth place with 17 games lost. Almaty L. are looking forward to face ChelSU (#10) in Kostanay in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caspiy Aktau will play at home against ChelSU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
