There was no surprise in Shanghai where 18th ranked Sturgeons (8-26) were defeated by sixth ranked Sharks (21-15) 112-98 on Friday. Sharks made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Sturgeons turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-1989, college: Indianapolis) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 7 assists and Australian-South Sudanese center Thon Maker (216-1997) added 13 points and 20 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sharks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 21-15 record. Sturgeons lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 26 games lost. Sharks will meet Blue Whales (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sturgeons will play against Rockets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
