Regular Season Round 42: Hokkaido L. - Sea Horses M. 80-77
Date: March 17, 2023
There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Hokkaido L. (11-31) edged 6th ranked Sea Horses M. (16-26) in Sapporo 80-77 on Friday. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) supported him with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Quincy Miller-Scott (206-1992, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Sea Horses M.. His fellow American import power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Hokkaido L. and five Sea Horses M. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. maintains eighth position with 11-31 record. Loser Sea Horses M. keeps the sixth place with 26 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
