There was no surprise when 4th placed Akita NH (21-19) was crushed on the road by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (32-8) 83-52 on Wednesday. Alvark Tokyo made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Akita NH 52-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Spanish Sebastian Saiz (205-1994, college: Ole Miss) stepped up and scored 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and American center Alex Kirk (211-1991, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds. American center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) responded with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alvark Tokyo maintains second place with 32-8 record having four points less than leader Yokohama BC. Akita NH lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex. Alvark Tokyo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Hitachi SRT.
