Rather expected game when 8th ranked Jilin Tigers (18-16) were smashed by fifth ranked Heroes (22-14) in Jinan 103-82 on Tuesday. Heroes made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Heroes outrebounded Jilin Tigers 51-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Jilin Tigers' players. American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-1988, college: NM State) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and Guancen Liu (201-1995) supported him with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even 11 points and 6 rebounds by Tianyi Liu (191-1994) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. The former international point guard Weize Jiang (182-2000) added 14 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Heroes maintains fifth position with 22-14 record. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the ninth place with 16 games lost. Heroes will meet Blue Whales (#17) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jilin Tigers will play against Aviators (#4) and hope to secure a win.
